Jennifer Schied, MSW, LCSW, CEDS

Certified Eating Disorder Specialist

Jennifer is a strengths-based trauma-informed Certified Eating Disorder Specialist (CEDS) and Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.  She completed her graduate studies in Clinical Social Work at New York University, post-graduate coursework in Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) at the Albert Ellis Institute (Manhattan, NY) and Mindfulness Based Stress Management (MBSM) training through the Penn Program for Mindfulness (Philadelphia, PA).  She has experience working as a Primary Therapist in both inpatient and outpatient private, non-profit and public healthcare settings and served as a Social Work Supervisor and Suicide Prevention Coordinator for the Veteran population with NJ VA Health Care System.  Jennifer provides Clinical Social Work Supervision to eligible NJ LCSW licensure candidates and maintains a private practice with offices in both Lambertville and Summit, NJ.  Jennifer offers tele-behavioral health services within her scope of practice for established clients on an as-needed basis.

Jennifer endeavors to cultivate clarity (clear seeing), compassion (for self and others), connection (in the world) and resourcing the body (embodied recovery) in the healing process.  She enjoys working collaboratively and believes in an integrative team approach to healing.  She offers individualized care and utilizes a variety of therapeutic interventions, strategies and evidence based practices to meet the unique needs of her clients.  Treatment is interactive and personalized with input from additional healthcare providers and healers across multiple disciplines to address biological, nutritional, somatic, psychological, social, spiritual and religious concerns as indicated.  She invites clients to explore complementary interventions that augment traditional forms of treatment (i.e., aromatherapy/essential oils, mindfulness meditation, forest therapy/the grounding properties of nature, strategic breathing, animal-assisted therapy) to embody overall health and create a genuine sense of well-being.
